ENERGY STORAGE BY HYDROGEN AND ELECTROCATALYSIS

Coordinator: Dr. A. Visintin

The storage of hydrogen in metallic alloys will be studied, with the aim of improving its transport and use as power vector in new nonpolluting technologies. New alloys, capable of storing great amounts of hydrogen and of being as positive electrodes for recharge alkaline batteries, will be designed and characterized. The basic aspects related to the hydrogen intercalation processes will be studied. A physicochemical model will be elaborated to allow the characterization and prediction of the charge-discharge processes.
